Maxim Galkin, representing AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation and Uppsala University, has been invited to speak at Treesearch Progress 2026, taking place at Vildmarkshotellet in Kolmården on April 14–15, 2026.

Treesearch Progress brings together researchers, industry representatives and invited guests to present and discuss the latest scientific advances in research on new materials from the forest. The conference is an important meeting place for collaboration between academia and industry within forest-based materials and the bioeconomy.

In his presentation, “From Tree to Tool: Making the Lignin You Need,” Maxim Galkin will present work related to application-adapted lignin and how forest-based side streams can be transformed into tailored building blocks for advanced materials.

AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation has also been invited to participate in the mingle section with a roll-up presentation of the company’s technology. This provides an opportunity to meet researchers, industry partners and other stakeholders to discuss how the company’s process enables lignin to be extracted directly from wood chips and sawdust in a single step.

“We are pleased to take part in Treesearch Progress 2026 and to contribute to the discussion on how forest-based raw materials can be developed into high-value, sustainable materials. The conference offers an excellent opportunity to connect with both academic and industrial partners and to present our technology in a setting focused on innovation and collaboration,” says Johan Gising, CEO of AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation.

Participation in Treesearch Progress 2026 reflects AB Karl Hedin Bio Innovation’s continued commitment to collaboration, research-driven innovation and the development of sustainable materials from forest-based side streams.
